Abstract
The bearing capacity of bored pile foundations is strongly influenced by
soil characteristics, particularly the cone resistance (qc) value obtained
from Cone Penetration Test (CPT) investigations. This study aims to
analyze the correlation between cone resistance (qc) and the axial
bearing capacity of bored pile foundations at the MTA Representative
Building Project in Sragen Regency. The research employed a
quantitative approach using secondary data derived from CPT results
and geotechnical investigation reports. The axial bearing capacity was
calculated using the Meyerhof (1963) and Schmertmann-Nottingham
(1975) methods. Furthermore, a linear regression analysis was conducted
to evaluate the relationship between qc and the ultimate bearing capacity
(Qult). The results indicate that the ultimate bearing capacity and
allowable bearing capacity increase with increasing qc values, pile
diameter, and foundation depth. Based on the Meyerhof method, the Qult
values range from 3.956 ton/m² to 179.7002 ton/m², while the
Schmertmann-Nottingham method produces Qult values ranging from
44.60 ton/m² to 113.84 ton/m². The regression analysis resulted in the
equation y = 0.0365x + 32.994 with a coefficient of determination (R²) of
0.3833, indicating a positive relationship between qc and Qult. The
findings suggest that cone resistance (qc) can be used as an important
parameter in estimating the axial bearing capacity of bored pile
foundations, although other geotechnical parameters should also be
considered to improve prediction accuracy.
