Abstract
The Cibeureum River is a river located in the Cilacap region of Central Java. This river is 40 km long with a catchment area of 357,529 km², and has experienced flooding. The most recent flood occurred on December 26, 2024 in the Sidareja Terminal area. In light of this issue, a hydrological analysis is needed to calculate the design flood discharge using the SCS method and the Snyder method through HEC-HMS software, as well as to identify differences in flood discharge in the Cibeureum River Basin based on land use conditions in 2014 and 2024. Modeling was conducted in the Cibeureum River Basin, Sidareja District, using HEC-HMS software. The data used included rainfall data from 2013 to 2023, land use data for 2014 and 2024 obtained from Landsat imagery, and the selected unit hydrograph methods were the SCS Synthetic Unit Hydrograph and the Snyder Synthetic Unit Hydrograph. The HEC-HMS modeling results show that the design flood discharge for the SCS method in 2014 with return periods of 2 years, 10 years, and 20 years is 28 m³/s, 64,7 m³/s, and 93,3 m³/s, respectively. Meanwhile, for 2024, the discharge for return periods of 2 years, 10 years, and 20 years are 49,6 m³/s, 112,2 m³/s, and 153,3 m³/s, respectively. As for the Snyder method in 2014, the design flood discharge with return periods of 2 years, 10 years
