Evaluasi kinerja simpang 4 blok O ringroad timur dengan menggunakan metode PKJI 2023 dan pemodelan mikrosimulasi dengan PTV VISSIM

The Blok O four-leg signalized intersection, connecting Majapahit Street, Maguwo Street, and Gedongkuning Street, is a critical traffic point on the Yogyakarta East Ringroad experiencing high vehicle volume. This study aims to evaluate the operational performance of the intersection under existing conditions and to formulate effective alternative solutions. The methodology involves a quantitative approach based on the 2023 Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM) and microsimulation modeling using PTV VISSIM software to represent traffic conditions accurately. The results of the existing condition evaluation show that the intersection has exceeded its saturation limit with an average degree of saturation (DS) of 1.112. PTV VISSIM modeling confirms that the intersection’s Level of Service (LOS) is at category F, with an average delay reaching 510.73 seconds per vehicle. Beyond traffic efficiency degradation, this congestion also impacts the environment, with an estimated total economic loss due to vehicle exhaust emissions amounting to Rp 2,230,643,244. Based on the analysis of four improvement scenarios, the fourth alternative was identified as the most effective solution by modifying the signal phases and optimizing the cycle time. The implementation of this scenario successfully reduced the average DS to 0.792, meeting the PKJI 2023 technical standard (< 0.85). This scenario also managed to reduce the economic cost of emission loads to Rp 1,923,948,521. Despite significant technical performance improvements, the overall Level of Service remains at category F due to the consistently high traffic volume.
