Abstract
This research is intended to analyze the traffic impact of a new restaurant development on a road section in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, including evaluating road performance and providing mitigation recommendations to maintain an optimal Level of Service (LoS). The restaurant’s strategic location in Sleman—a rapidly developing hub for economics, education, and tourism—has the potential to increase the existing traffic load on the main road. Traffic Impact Analysis (Andalalin) is crucial for assessing the influence of this development on current traffic conditions, considering parameters such as capacity and Degree of Saturation (DS). The research methodology involved field observations for primary data (traffic volume, lane width, and environmental conditions) and secondary data collection (population and traffic growth data). Traffic analysis was conducted based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (PKJI) 2023, followed by an evaluation of the Level of Service. The analysis indicates that the existing road capacity of the Regency road—classified as a two-lane, two-way undivided road (2/2-UD) with a width of 6 meters—remains adequate to accommodate current traffic. The total current traffic volume is 2,125 vehicles/hour, which converts to 909 pcu/hour. The Degree of Saturation is 0.42, resulting in a Level of Service C. Projections for the next five years indicate an increase to 0.57. An increase of 0.15 occurred; however, this value remains below the critical threshold (DS < 1), indicating that the traffic flow can still be accommodated by the available road capacity. Based on the DS value, the Level of Service (LoS) of the road segment remains in category C. This increase indicates traffic growth but remains within safe and manageable limits.
