Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the concept of zuhud and impulsive buying among students in Indonesia. The background of this research stems from the phenomenon of increasing impulsive spending habits due to the influence of modern consumer culture supported by digital technology, as well as the importance of applying spiritual values in controlling consumption. The research objective is to analyze the relationship between the level of zuhud, which is the attitude of self-restraint from excessive attachment to material things, and the tendency of impulsive buying. The method is a correlational quantitative approach using a Likert scale instrument to measure both variables. The research sample involves Muslim students from various universities in Indonesia, with data collected online and analyzed using the Pearson correlation test. The results showed a significant negative relationship, where students with a higher level of zuhud tend to have lower impulsive buying, although the relationship was weak. These findings indicate that the application of zuhud values plays a role in reducing impulsive buying urges and encouraging wiser financial management. The implications of this research suggest the importance of integrating spiritual values such as zuhud into financial education programs and character building for students to overcome consumer challenges in the digital era. Further research is expected to explore other factors influencing impulsive buying for the development of more effective financial management.
