Abstract
Waste management in Murtigading Village, Sanden District, Bantul Regency, remains a significant challenge, given the low level of public awareness of the importance of proper waste management. The objective of this community service program is to increase residents' awareness and skills in community-based waste management, as well as to introduce the concept of environmentally friendly waste management. These activities include education on waste types, waste sorting training, and the application of organic and inorganic waste management methods. Furthermore, the program educates the community about the importance of recycling and composting. The methods used in this activity include outreach, direct training, and ongoing mentoring to ensure effective waste management. The expected outcome of this activity is the creation of a cleaner and healthier village, with increased public awareness of the importance of sustainable waste management. It is hoped that this activity will reduce the volume of unmanaged waste and have a positive impact on environmental quality and public health. The mandatory outcome is the publication of an article in the proceedings of the 2025 UII National Seminar.
