Abstract
Household waste is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gases. According to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Indonesia is the 8th largest waste contributor in 2024, contributing 14.73 tons of waste per year. In other words, Indonesia is a country that contributes to current climate change. This study aims to provide an analysis of community empowerment strategies through a circular economy in Tepisari Village, Polokarto, Sukoharjo, as a solution to the problem of household waste. This study uses a mixed method with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires, literature studies, and observations. This study is a form of dissemination of the activities of the community service group for the Security, Conflict, and Peace Studies (K3P) study that was held in 2024. As an analytical tool, the researcher used the concept of a circular economy. The results show that the Tepisari village community still manages waste using conventional methods by burning and burying it in the ground. This condition is certainly not environmentally friendly and has the potential to cause greater environmental damage. Therefore, outreach activities were conducted by educating the public about utilizing organic household waste to produce Eco-Enzyme liquid fertilizer. Most respondents (the public) believed that Eco-Enzyme could be a solution to the waste problem and believed that it could be used as a liquid fertilizer
