Abstract
Road damage is a serious problem that impacts the safety, comfort, and smoothness of community activities. The purpose of this study is to group 76 road sections in Bantul Regency using the Block-based K-Medoids (Block-KM) partition method. The research variables used are three types of road damage, namely alligator, corrugation, and pothole. The optimal number of clusters is determined based on four criteria, namely the Deviation Ratio Index based on Medoid (DRIM), Variance Ratio Criterion (VRC), Silhouette, and Krzanowski-Lai (KL) Index. The results show that except for the KL index, the other three criteria conclude that the optimal number of clusters is two. The first cluster consists of 28 road sections with a predominance of pothole damage, making it a top priority for repair. The second cluster includes 48 road sections with a predominance of alligator and corrugation, which impact driving discomfort and require a continuous maintenance strategy.
