Abstract
The Koripan metallurgical culture in Kranggan Village, Klaten Regency, faces the threat of extinction due to the declining number of blacksmiths, the shift from producing keris (traditional daggers) to agricultural tools, and the low interest of the younger generation. This condition has led to decreasing community income and weakening cultural preservation. This community service program aims to revitalize the metallurgical culture while empowering the local economy through training to improve the quality of knives and their packaging. The method applied is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), which involves active community participation in a series of activities, such as knife and packaging quality enhancement training. Program evaluation was conducted using paired t-tests, observations, and questionnaires with eight local blacksmiths. The results of the analysis indicate significant improvements in skills and added product value. The program successfully enhanced the quality of knives and their packaging, thereby increasing community income. Thus, this community service activity not only contributes to cultural preservation but also fosters the economic independence of Kranggan Village.
